Q.

Q.
If a resource is listed on my search results, does that ensure that I am qualified or eligible for that program?
A.
No. We have made every effort to provide you with targeted information, based upon the small amount of information we collect from you. However, many of the resources have additional or more restricted eligibility criteria than we are able to take into account (for example, income limitations may depend on the size of the household). In addition, most resources have limited funding, and there may not always be funds available to every applicant, even if you are eligible. We encourage you to learn everything you can about eligibility for specific programs by starting with the internet links we have provided, and to speak with the agency in whose program you are interested to get additional information.
Q.
Do the search results provide a list of all available programs for which I might be eligible?
A.
Not necessarily. Please be aware that some of the programs listed are actually websites which refer you to other resources or programs. Once you click the link for a program website, be sure to read the information carefully. It will contain additional information about eligibility, and may also provide links to additional or more local resources for you.
Q.
Do all programs included on my search results have available funding?
A.
The Foundation makes every attempt to display programs which are currently active and taking applications. However, non-profit and governmental resources may run out of funds at any time, so you will have to investigate the specific programs and possibly submit an application to determine if the program is actively funded.
Q.
Homeowner-Help.org isn’t working for me. I am being directed to resources which are not available in my area, or are not applicable to me; or I have had a bad experience with one of the referred agencies. How can I let you know about this?
A.
Please e-mail us at info@foa-foundation.org with any comments or concerns with the content or functionality of this portal.
Q.
I work with a non-profit, company or governmental agency which is not listed as a resource. Can I submit my organization for inclusion on Homeowner-Help.org?
A.
We would be glad to consider adding your organization. We generally do not provide information regarding for-profit organizations, as this is not intended to be a marketing or advertising platform. For non-profits, we will perform basic research such as review of your most recent Form 990 and your website to be sure that your organization fits the profile which we are seeking. Also, please remember that our mission is to assist homeowners. At this time, we are not posting resources which are targeted to renters or to businesses.
Q.
Will Homeowner-Help.org help me if I do not get the assistance for which I am eligible?
A.
Unfortunately, we do not have staffing to provide individual assistance or appeals. However, if you believe you have been unfairly treated or that our description of the program was not accurate, we would request that you send us an e-mail at info@foa-foundation.org, as it is very important to us that the information we are providing be as accurate as possible.
